Summary: The Flip- Pal® mobile scanner provides an easy way to collect a digital copy of the many artifacts from the life of your ancestor. This lecture will cover many tips to help you easily digitize and organize such things as military patches and fabrics, lace, certificates, samplers, jewelry, signs and more.

Description: How do we collect the multidimensional aspect of a life? Using a Flip-Pal® mobile scanner we can scan 2D and 3D parts of a life for a history. So many things are available for saving digitally: lace scan from a delicate 16th century wedding dress, fragile documents that you don’t want to take to a copy store, a questionable date on a tombstone, the rusted sign from an ancestor’s business, the carbon copy of a land deed. All this and more can be scanned using the Flip-Pal® mobile scanner.

Audience Level: Beginner

Requirements: Projection for laptop/netbook computer on large screen; internet connection – wired or wireless (preferred in order to show live websites and resources).
