Genealogical Societies – Extend Your Brand at Family Search Wiki

Family Search Adopt-A-Wiki Page

Heads up to genealogical societies: Family Search through its Adopt-A-Wiki-Page program, is offering a unique opportunity to extend your visibility and branding.

The program allows your organization to “sponsor” a page or set of pages on the Family Search Wiki and once your sponsorship is approved, a graphic with a link to your society’s website or blog appears:

ISGS Sponsored Family Search Wiki Pages

So what’s the catch? There is none.  Just like adopting a highway, you commit to doing some periodical “housecleaning” which means your society will monitor your sponsored pages, make certain the content is relevant to the subject matter and accurate, and make edits as needed.

This sponsorship is available on a first-come, first-served basis so you need to “stake out” your pages NOW.  There can only be one sponsor per page so go to Family Search Wiki, select the pages relevant to your genealogical society, and then follow the procedure at the Adopt-A-Wiki-Page help page.
