The November 2010 issue of Speak!, The Online Newsletter of the Genealogical Speakers Guild is available. Inside on pages 5-6, you’ll find my latest article entitled Blogs: Easy Internet Presence for Genealogists.

In the article I explain how professional genealogists and genealogical speakers can leverage the easy-to-use features of a blog to meet their business objectives.  In fact, a blog is so much easier to create and maintain than a website, that some businesses have opted to create an Internet presence using the blog platform that mimics a website.  I bet that some websites you’ve visited are actually blogs on the back-end and you didn’t notice the difference!

UPDATE: Due to a scheduling conflict, I will not be speaking at the upcoming meeting for the Zion Genealogical Society meeting. This event will be rescheduled for Spring 2011.

There is an article in today’s issue of the Itasca Press (on the mysuburbanlife.com website) discussing how the over-50 crowd is migrating to Facebook and becoming one of the fastest growing demographics for this social media site.

My recent appearance on July 14, 2010 at the Bloomingdale Public Library (where I presented Social Networking: New Horizons for Genealogists) is mentioned, complete with photos of me and participants in the presentation.
