Wisconsin State Genealogical Society Gene-A-Rama April 27-28, 2012

I’m happy to announce that I will be featured as the main speaker for the Wisconsin State Genealogical Society‘s Gene-A-Rama event, April 27-28, 2012 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

During the FGS 2011 conference, I had the chance to chat with Mary Rieder, WSGS president and she had no problem convincing me to make the trip north for this great event.

I will be presenting some of my more popular lectures including Facebook for GenealogistsManaging Your Genealogy Data, and They’re Alive – Searching for Living Persons. And I will be developing a new lecture just for the folks at WSGS entitled Behind the Cheese Curtain: A Look at Wisconsin Genealogy Resources.

Finally, I will also provide a humorous look at genealogy and technology – Genealogy
Party Line: Hung Up on Technology – during the Friday evening banquet.

As you can see above, I love working with genealogy societies and I can even customize an in-person talk or webinar (from my home in Chicago) just for your society!

Come join me and many other genealogists in Green Bay next April! Click here for more information.

New Article: How To Collaborate With Other Genealogists

Archives.com

My latest article entitled “How to Collaborate with Other Genealogists” has been posted at Archives.com.  This is one of many articles you’ll find as part of the Learn from Experts series at Archives.com – check it out and you will see some familiar faces among the genealogy blogging crowd!

The most recent article discusses why you would want to connect with other genealogy researchers and family historians and the various ways to do so. You’ll see that one of my “mantras” is to ask permission before using anything you find in a blog post or a website of another genealogist!

Visit the  Articles page here at High-Definition Genealogy for my other recent and past articles on genealogy.

Disclaimer: this was an assignment for Archives.com in which I was paid to produce a an article on the subject of genealogy webinars.  In addition to payment, I also received a complimentary membership to Archives.com.  See the Disclosure Statements page for a list of all material connections I have with genealogy vendors.
